This represents a strategic business initiative for Black & Veatch, and this position is structured to help the company grow its market share by providing world-class planning, water resource, and condition assessment services. The TeamWithin our U.S. planning and water resources business, we have seen consistent growth driven by our clients’ needs to address challenges stemming from stormwater regulations, flooding, water quality impairments driven by wet weather runoff, asset management, and efforts to increase the use of green infrastructure. We anticipate an increased focus on integrated stormwater planning and holistic watershed management as State and Federal agencies emphasize controlling stormwater, non-point source pollution, and TMDL enforcement. This represents a strategic business initiative for Black & Veatch, and the Water Resources position focused on stormwater, watersheds, and integrated planning is designed to help the company grow its market share by providing world-class planning and water resource services.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you have the opportunity to:Lead the execution of water resources projects for services including the following:Planning, modeling and/or design of stormwater improvements, including open channels, storm or combined sewer systems, and stormwater detention/retention facilitiesPlanning and/or design of green infrastructure and sustainable watershed measures, including structural BMPsPlanning and/or design of flood mitigation improvements, including dams, levees, reservoirs, and pump stationsErosion and sediment control planning and design, including SWPPP developmentRegulatory compliance and permitting efforts for USACE, FEMA, and other environmental permit submittalsProvide business development leadership to identify and capture the above services Build client relationships throughout the target geography to drive growth of the businessLead the execution of the services listed above and act as Project ManagerInterface with innovative stormwater, water quality, and planning partners to leverage new technologies and approaches for the benefit of our clientsProvide technical mentorship to professionalsIdentify, recruit, and supervise earlier-career professionals Support the development and growth of the larger Planning business by identifying and supporting water supply, water and wastewater masterplan, asset management, and condition assessment opportunitiesPreferred Qualifications5+ years of water resources planning and design experienceExperience developing and executing water resource planning and design projectsHave proficiency with some or all of the following applications and modelsHEC-RASHEC-HMSEPA/XP-SWMMInfoWorksEFDCCFDArcGISCityworks, Lucity, or other Asset Management/CMMS systemsExperience with regulatory requirements and proceduresDrive client-facing/business development effortMinimum QualificationsRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in Engineering work.Minimum of 5 years related work experience.All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.CertificationsHolds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.Work Environment and SchedulingHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.Normal office environment with a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office and 2 days remote Some employees are subject to extreme cold (temperatures below 30 degrees for periods of more than one hour), extreme heat (temperatures above 90 degrees for periods of more than one hour), hazards (electrical currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposures to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation), and oils.
