Physical Therapist - Inpatient

Role Overview The Physical Therapist is responsible for improving patient quality of life through hands-on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. Working collaboratively with inpatient teams, they evaluate and treat patients of all ages with a variety of therapeutic interventions for physical and developmental rehabilitation. They oversee comprehensive programs tailored to meet physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs, promoting patient independence and advocating for their care. Working collaboratively with inpatient teams, they evaluate and treat patients of all ages with a variety of therapeutic interventions for physical and developmental rehabilitation. They oversee comprehensive programs tailored to meet physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs, promoting patient independence and advocating for their care. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed evaluations and develop treatment plans based on data interpretation. Implement therapeutic interventions for physical and developmental disorders across the lifespan. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate discharge goals. Promote patient self-determination and utilize outside resources. Evaluate and treat pediatric patients, including infants, children, and adolescents, with the ability to float to adult units if needed. Ensure compliance with setting rules and regulations. Perform other assigned duties as necessary. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree required; Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred. New Mexico Physical Therapy License or provisional license accepted. Less than one year of experience; new graduates encouraged to apply. BLS certification required at hire. Basic computer skills and understanding of healthcare regulations.
