Job Overview Airbus Americas, Inc. is looking for a Space Planning Coordinator to join our team based in Mobile, AL on First Shift (8:00 am – 5:30 pm). The primary role is the coordination of events of various sizes and purposes, including corporate meetings across the MMS campus, while also supporting occupancy initiatives related to space planning, work‑team layouts, adjacencies, and office/furniture configurations. The Coordinator will maintain accurate space data at the Airbus Mobile US Manufacturing Facility and other off‑site locations. Key Responsibilities Plan and manage event details, including furniture setup, room availability, food service, and guest coordination. Process invoices, oversee budget spend, and track spending against budgets. Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Serve as the main point of contact for FMRE for event related communication, invitations, and promotional materials. Collaborate with management to develop new workplace solutions, manage headcount growth, departmental re‑orgs, and workplace concepts. Administer or guide occupancy data collection studies and perform complex analysis tasks. Maintain space planning and forecasting reports and headcount projections. Lead the development of furniture test‑fits and workplace usage solutions for multiple departments. Assist in migration and phase planning of large‑scale occupancy projects. Other duties as assigned. Analysis & Service Delivery Recommend and manage initiatives to increase and improve service delivery, considering both cost and quality. Track and manage KPIs for service delivery performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design or a related field (preferred). High school diploma with 3 to 5 years of experience in space planning, CAFM, tenant occupancy programming, or facility management services. 3–5 years of experience in event planning, space planning, or coordination. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Team management and leadership skills for coordinating with a team. Financial acumen to keep costs within allocated budgets and produce accurate reporting. Logistics skills to anticipate and manage potential problems during events. Physical Requirements Ability to traverse office facilities across the MMS campus. Vision and hearing sufficient for reading computer screens and engaging in conversations. Capacity to carry up to 20 lbs (9 kg) and lift up to 20 lbs (14 kg) occasionally. Capability to push or pull items in office areas and on the shop floor. Licensed to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat or kneel as required for the job.
