Shift 3 shifts/week Sign On Bonus $10,000 sign on bonus Overall Responsibility The Registered Nurse is responsible for the clinically competent provision of professional nursing care to patients, including assessment, direct physical care, evaluation, teaching, and counseling. Ensures delegated care is consistent with patient/family needs. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team while maintaining all standards of professional nursing. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Demonstrates the ability to assess and evaluate data, including: systematic and ongoing assessment based on patient/family diagnoses and problem list; diagnostic test results and other clinical information; response to medical and/or nursing care and treatment; behavioral responses; developmental needs; cultural responses and needs; educational needs. Recognizes and reports changes in inpatient condition. Communicates with the physician regarding patient’s needs, nursing assessments, and recommendations on a daily basis. Collaborates with other nurses and health team members to ensure patient wellbeing as evidenced by staff and client feedback. Provides a thorough, concise report at change of shift, communicating pertinent information to the appropriate person in a timely manner. Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patient and staff according to policy and procedure as evidenced by staff and client feedback and operations coordinator observation. Ensures supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner. Follows appropriate procedure for obtaining, returning, cleaning, and disposing of equipment and supplies. Remains conscientious in regard to personal hygiene and complies with specific division/unit regulations. Demonstrates patient and family focus in the provision of care, adhering to standards. Ensures delegated nursing care for patients and families is provided according to plans developed by the treatment team and within the confines of applicable practice acts. Utilizes critical thinking to evaluate the effectiveness of care. Assists patients and families to integrate the impact of illness and recovery into their lifestyles through patient education. Collaborates with care providers in meeting patient care needs. Performs care interventions in accordance with the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act. Communicates progress toward expected outcomes. Responds to potential risk and hazard to themselves and others. Supports effective communication through utilizing systems that enable opportunities for input regarding patient care issues. Documents assessments, treatments, re-evaluations, and patient responses to treatment per hospital policies and procedures. Participates regularly in educational activities related to practice and collaborates with mentor to identify learning needs and seeks experiences to develop clinical skills. Develops a clinical knowledge base for populations served that is age appropriate, culturally specific, and diagnosis appropriate. Contributes to the establishment of an ethical environment that supports the rights of all participants. Participates in resolving ethical problems or dilemmas of individuals or systems. Provides advocacy, protection, and support for patient rights, family involvement, and patient/family decision‑making. Remains calm and functions as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations. Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior. Actively participates on appropriate committees and QA/PI activities. Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood‑borne pathogens. Uses good body mechanics. Informs Director of applicable day‑to‑day situations. Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies. Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner. Maintains patient and hospital confidentiality at all times. Licensure and Certification BCLS, if not current, certification within 90 days of hire. ACLS required; if not current, obtain training within 6 months. Valid and current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma. Required Experience Education and experience required: Board Eligible Graduate nurse or Associate’s degree from an accredited two‑year college or university, or diploma in nursing. Prefer at least one year medical‑surgical nursing experience.
