Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg position on the 4 West orthopedic/post-op unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an Alabama or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Position is located on a 30-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in orthopedics and post-operative surgical care,
• Patient population consists primarily of surgical patients, including orthopedic and post-op cases,
• Patient ratio is 6:1,
• Day shift hours are 0645-1915,
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating required on an as-needed basis,
• No on-call requirements,
• EMR system is Cerner,
• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active Alabama or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration, with no disciplinary actions or hits on the license,
• Current AHA BLS and AHA NIH Stroke Scale certifications required (American Red Cross certifications are not accepted),
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg, orthopedics, or post-op nursing experience required,
• Strong time management skills, reliability, and a positive, confident work ethic are essential,
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Bedside shift report is required,
• Navy scrubs are required,
• Artificial nails of any kind (gel, dipped, wrapped, acrylic, etc.) are not permitted,
• The facility is a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital recognized for stroke care, cardiovascular services, surgical care, and more,
• This is a fast-paced unit requiring quick thinking and strong clinical confidence
