Summary:

The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the clinical growth and development of Blue Lakes Behavioral Health (BLBH). The Clinical Director ensures the systematic development and implementation of clinically sound behavior guidelines, supervises all clinical staff, and develops and maintains strong relationships with families and community-based support providers.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Development and Growth

• Determine clinical needs of all clinical programs and monitor ongoing clinical progress and performance
• Participate in interview process for management team members
• Manage client waitlist, coordinates new client onboarding, conducts intake assessments, and creates the initial treatment plan and oversees the entire intake process. Conduct functional behavior assessments and/or functional analysis as necessary.
• Manage authorizations and authorization deadlines to payers, including working with the finance department, to ensure authorizations are entered according to external and internal company standards.
• Provide direct clinical support on an as-needed basis to achieve established clinical performance goals.
• Provide oversight and monitoring of behavioral assessments and treatment programs to ensure high quality, effective, and ethical practices.
• Provide mentorship to clinicians assisting with growth and development of clinical skills.
• Effectively model and lead a positive team environment, focusing on a supportive culture.
• Provide meaningful employee training to effectively grow and develop clinical, operational, and interpersonal skills.
• Understand, demonstrate, and model expertise in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis utilizing behavior analytic rationale throughout all job responsibilities.
• Organize and facilitate supervision hours and caseloads of BCBA supervisors under direct instruction maintaining a minimum of 30 billable hours per supervisor
• Establish rapport with families and utilize a person-centered planning model ensuring a collaborative treatment approach.
• Conduct client intake and onboarding, including timely responses to family inquiries, initial pre-screenings, and intake processes.
• Assist with employee interviews as necessary and complete initial onboarding of new hires.
• Maintain strict adherence to BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance code

  Clinical Oversight

• Oversee functional assessment (including functional analyses) of challenging behavior and behavior plan development
• Review behavior guidelines and skill acquisition programs ensuring accuracy in data collection procedures
• Recommend modifications to instructional programs and behavior guidelines based on frequent, systematic evaluation of direct observational data
• Provide training and ongoing support to BLBH families
• Review, edit, and improve transition plans for clients as they exit the BLBH program
• Oversee development of BLBH skill acquisition curriculum
• Review and approve initial assessments and treatment plans

  Clinical Supervision

• Conduct annual performance evaluations of each supervisor in conjunction with leadership
• Assist in the modification of adherence to performance improvement plans and/or other disciplinary interventions for clinical performance
• Monitor the productivity of each clinical supervisor and ensure training needs are met for all clinical staff
• Assist in the development of the Clinical Supervisor training programs

  Operational Responsibilities:

• Recognize and identify company policies and procedures in order to relay, enforce, and direct polices to staff and families.
• Oversee and manage the monthly operating budget and allocate resources to optimize client and staff results
• Oversee and work with facilities manager to achieve front desk operational goals and maintain BLBH on site operating standards
• Develop, retain, hire, performance manage, and engage all supervisors and staff under Clinical Director management
• Facilitate and manage regular staff meeting(s) outlining current assignments and assigning follow up tasks and responsibilities as necessary
• Assist with payer relationships and leverage improved rates in areas with most opportunity
• Actively assist with leadership tasks to ensure collaboration and best practice sharing among all BLBH locations
• Assess and oversee Electronic Medical Record to ensure key performance indicators are achieved
• Manage staff and supervisor capacity as well as authorization utilization as determined by leadership
• Additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Master's Degree in ABA, Psychology, or related field required
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification required
• 5+ years of experience in development and oversight of clinical program preferred
