General Manager

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a well-established Fire Protection Services organization to identify a General Manager to lead operations, drive growth, and oversee overall business performance within a key regional market. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Business Leadership Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and key performance initiatives. Drive organic growth through customer expansion, market development, and service penetration. Partner with executive leadership to support strategic business initiatives and long-term growth objectives. Represent the organization within the marketplace and industry. Operations Management Lead all day-to-day branch and field operations. Establish performance metrics, forecasting processes, and accountability measures. Improve service efficiency, backlog execution, scheduling, dispatching, and documentation quality. Enhance conversion of inspection deficiencies into repair and project opportunities. Maintain P&L responsibility for the business unit. Drive pricing strategy, margin improvement, and contract profitability. Manage working capital through effective billing, collections, backlog, and WIP management. Monitor and report on operational and financial KPIs. Safety, Compliance & Quality Ensure compliance with all applicable NFPA, OSHA, AHJ, and local regulatory requirements. Maintain high standards of service quality, safety performance, and technician certification compliance. Foster a culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders. Serve as the executive escalation point for major customer concerns. Drive customer retention, satisfaction, and account expansion initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with at least 5 years managing a branch, district, region, or business unit. Experience within fire protection, mechanical contracting, construction services, building services, security, or related industries strongly preferred. Demonstrated success managing complex operations and multidisciplinary teams. Strong financial acumen including P&L management, forecasting, budgeting, job costing, and KPI analysis. Proven ability to lead growth initiatives, operational improvements, integrations, or business transformations. Executive presence with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
