About the Role We’re seeking a full-time Pet Groomer to join our team. This is a commission‑based position reporting to the Practice Manager and Medical Director. Ideal Candidate A team player who’s also self‑motivated Detail‑oriented and reliable A strong communicator with a passion for animals and client care Hands‑on experience grooming or bathing all breeds of dogs and cats and a commitment to delivering professional, safe, and compassionate grooming services Key Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality grooms that meet client expectations Ensure a safe, gentle, and positive experience for every pet Collaborate with medical and boarding teams Consult with clients before and after services Monitor pet health and report concerns Maintain grooming tools and ensure equipment safety Keep grooming and bathing areas clean and sanitized Schedule appointments and assist with client onboarding Resolve client concerns professionally and promptly Qualifications 2–4 years of professional grooming experience preferred Grooming certification preferred (not required) Knowledge of breed standards and cuts Skilled in proper scissoring techniques Passion for animal care (dogs + cats) Commitment to safe, low‑stress handling (no forceful or aversive techniques) Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, sometimes noisy environment Team‑oriented mindset with a positive attitude Detail‑oriented with basic computer skills Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes (up to 60 lbs) Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling Compensation & Benefits Commission‑based pay Tips Employee discounts Schedule: Full‑time Monday–Friday On‑site Equal Opportunity Employer AmeriVet is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
