Construction Manager

Description Role Summary: At Smartaira, we thrive when our people thrive. The Construction Manager will oversee and coordinate various construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed. The Construction Manager will collaborate on scopes of work with internal teams and contractors, coordinate schedules with contractors, and delegate responsibilities to internal and external teams. We rely on our associates for flexibility and foresight, while maintaining confidentiality related to high-level systems and operations. Duties & Responsibilities Manage and oversee the building process of various telecommunication construction projects from start to finish. Develop scopes of work, work with contractors, delegate responsibilities and provide project progress and updates. Select and oversee contractors for specific projects, major upgrades, and other telecommunication construction related initiatives. Supervises each contractor and subcontractor to ensure that work meets quality standards and adheres to Smartaira's SOW (Scope of Work) and technical specifications. Provides leadership in initial planning stage by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, or other involved parties; develops detailed description of jobs and materials necessary to complete each project. Schedules and coordinates projects in logical steps and budgets the time necessary to meet each deadline. Prepares and submits budget estimates and regularly communicates with stakeholders concerning budget progress and costs. Ensures adherence to the budget and, when unexpected complications or issues arise, makes quick and necessary adjustments in adherence to established Change Management and related approval processes. Plans, coordinates, organizes, oversees, and directs activities regarding the construction and maintenance of assigned structures, facilities, and systems. Ensures safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction. Oversees negotiations, revisions, and change orders with contractors and subcontractors and ensures compliance with contractual obligations by all parties. Collaborates with clients, supervisory staff, and contractors to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and construction issues. Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites. Develops and maintains good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers. Other directives as required. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities Thorough understanding of telecommunication contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations. Productivity tools: AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam Revu, MSOffice 360. Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment. Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, work well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays. Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems. Exceptional telephone protocol and high degree of professionalism. Energetic, upbeat, outgoing, organized and detail oriented with excellent follow through skills. Must possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when required. Education and Experience A minimum of five years of telecommunication construction project management experience required. Construction Manager certification by the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America preferred. Bachelor's degree in construction science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering preferred. PMP (project Management Professional) designation and/or PMI (Project Management Institute) certifications or equivalent preferred. BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services Industry) or equivalent certifications preferred. Industry recognized WiFi/WLAN training and certifications. Physical Requirements Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. May require travel. Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
