Operations Associate I – Medical Device Assembly
This role focuses on assembling medical devices, specifically oxygen concentrators, in a fast-paced, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will follow FDA guidelines and detailed manufacturing documentation to build high-quality products that support critical healthcare needs. Safety and quality are the top priorities, and you will work with mechanical and electronic components, hand tools, and basic computer systems as part of a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Assemble oxygen concentrators in accordance with manufacturing documentation, including assembly instructions, travelers, packaging instructions, and configuration logs.
- Perform prototype inspection, modifications, and upgrades on oxygen concentrators while maintaining strict adherence to documented specifications.
- Verify the accuracy and quality of finished assemblies and packaging to ensure they meet required quality standards and output expectations.
- Perform mechanical assemblies using a variety of hand tools such as wrenches, drivers, and sockets.
- Assist in maintaining strict configuration controls to ensure all products are built and documented consistently.
- Complete required transactions in the ERP system and use basic computer skills to document work accurately.
- Follow FDA regulations and guidelines for medical device manufacturing and adhere to all safety and quality procedures.
- Stand for the duration of the shift and safely lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more as needed during the assembly process.
- Participate in interviews and discussions about work experience, providing clear and detailed explanations of previous roles and responsibilities.
- Work mandatory overtime when required, including starting as early as 5:00 a.m. and working on Saturdays at month-end and quarter-end.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to maintain a sense of urgency and meet production schedules.
Essential Skills
- Experience in mechanical or electronic assembly, preferably with small devices or medical devices.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly using hand tools such as wrenches, drivers, sockets, and other basic power or hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and related documentation.
- Understanding of quality standards and requirements in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to perform transactions in an ERP system, such as SAP or Oracle.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain work experience, technical tasks, and problem-solving approaches during interviews and on the job.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift and comfortably lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly in a manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where urgency and attention to detail are critical.
- Willingness and ability to work mandatory overtime, including early morning starts and occasional Saturdays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background as a repair technician with experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair of small devices.
- Experience with electronic assembly, wiring, soldering, or working with electronics components.
- Familiarity with medical device assembly and working under FDA regulations and guidelines.
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and work from schematics and detailed technical documentation.

Work Environment
This position is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that operates under FDA regulations and guidelines for medical devices. The environment is fast paced, and a strong sense of urgency is expected throughout the production floor. You will work primarily on your feet for the duration of the shift, from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the start time potentially varying by 30 minutes. The first day begins at 9:00 a.m. Mandatory overtime may be required, including early start times as early as 5:00 a.m. and occasional Saturday work at the end of the month and quarter. You will use hand tools such as wrenches, drivers, and sockets, and interact with ERP systems and basic computer applications as part of your daily tasks. The facility follows structured safety and quality procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality medical device production.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
