About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for a travel contract in Hilo, Hawaii. This role provides rehabilitation services to adult patients in both inpatient acute rehabilitation and outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate will have recent rehabilitation experience, strong clinical assessment skills, and the ability to help patients improve their functional independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional abilities and rehabilitation needs.

• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.

• Provide rehabilitation services to adult patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Support patients in improving daily living skills, mobility, and functional independence.

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using electronic medical record systems.

• Provide holiday coverage as required by hospital operations.

Requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Occupational Therapy rehabilitation experience.

• Appropriate Hawaii Occupational Therapist license required by the start date.

• Current BLS certification.

• Experience providing inpatient and outpatient adult rehabilitation services.

• Familiarity with Net Health Therapy and Meditech is beneficial.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare environment.

Assignment Details

• Contract: 26 weeks

• Schedule: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

• Weekly Hours: 40 hours

• Work Settings: Inpatient acute rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation

• Holiday Coverage: Hawaii State and Federal holidays as needed.

• Licensing: Hawaii OT license must be obtained by the assignment start date. Candidates should be prepared to apply upon acceptance.

• Onboarding: The traveler must arrive in Hawaii on the Thursday before the Monday start date for an Employee Health appointment on Friday.
