Schedule

• Regular Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

What You'll Do

As a Melt Ex Machine Operator, you’ll set up and operate extrusion equipment, monitor and adjust processes, inspect product quality, troubleshoot issues, perform basic equipment maintenance, and document production activities while following quality and safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Complete extrusion equipment set ups, startups, changeovers and shutdowns in accordance with standard operating procedures and production schedules.
• Make process adjustments as needed to ensure products meet required dimensional tolerances and visual quality standards
• Perform in-process quality inspections, identify product and process issues, and troubleshoot film extrusion operations to maintain consistent product quality.
• Maintain production tooling, dies, and extrusion equipment in optimal operating condition; perform equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance as required.
• Accurately complete process documentation, production records, and daily logs/reports.
• Identify and report non-conformances and collaborate with Production Management and Process Engineering to resolve technical and process-related issues.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to fellow extrusion operators to promote effective and consistent production practices.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and guidelines, promptly report safety concerns, injuries, and workplace incidents, and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Document the overall production process, including identifying, recording, and communicating potential product defects and quality concerns.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in plastics industry
• 2-3 years of film / sheet or other melt extrusion experience
• Web handling experience, such as slitting, winding, or adhesive coating
• Knowledge of how to drive a fork truck
• Familiar with an ERP/Shop Floor Entry system
• Knowledge of quality assurance
• Familiar with 6S

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic Machining Skills
• Mechanical Dexterity
• Problem solving
• Knowledge of gauging, calibrating and processing equipment
• Basic Math Skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift
• Lift, move, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive tasks
• Work safely around manufacturing equipment while wearing required PPE
