Direct Support Professional Location: Griffin, GA Job Id: 9625 | # of Openings: 6 | Status: Part-Time/Full-Time | Pay: Starting at $15.00/hr | Shift: 2nd & 3rd Shifts Available (with Rotating Weekend Shifts Required) | Type: Entry-Level VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA SOUTHEAST is a growing organization serving Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for guiding, coaching and encouraging individuals to achieve their maximum level of independence. They will assure individuals have opportunities to learn and grow in accordance with personal outcome measures through education and life experiences. Know How: Minimum 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Ability to collaborate effectively with the person receiving services, co-workers, family members, related agencies and others. Assist individuals in achieving personal goals while promoting dignity and respect. Communicate effectively with individuals by listening and learning in the way that is most effective for the person. Establish rapport with individuals, family members, friends, and other natural supports to ensure comprehensive coordination. High level of written communication skills, a valid Georgia driver’s license and the ability to meet the requirements of Volunteers of America Southeast’s vehicle insurance carrier, if applicable. Pass all required training courses including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, CPI, and VOASE Policies & Procedures. Included Daily Tasks: Bathing Feeding Grooming/Hygiene Upkeep Toileting Medication Administration Transportation Needs Daily Documentation in Therap Cooking Cleaning Laundry #J-18808-Ljbffr
