We work directly with international factories, collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Studio, and ensure our products meet quality, cost, and timeline expectations. Role Overview The Buyer owns purchasing execution for assigned categories, managing supplier relationships, cost negotiations, purchase orders, and timelines. This role is accountable for margin support, quality standards, and on-time delivery. Buyers are strategic thinkers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving problems proactively. Active passport required. This role includes approximately one international trip per year to China or Hong Kong to meet with factories and vendors. New hires can expect to join this trip after completing one year of employment. Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle for assigned categories Communicate directly with overseas factories across time zones Negotiate pricing and terms to support margin goals Review and approve samples and artwork Track production timelines and critical path milestones Prepare margin analysis and purchasing reports Build strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Studio, and Product Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities Core Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of purchasing experience Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities Strong analytical and negotiation skills Ownership mindset and accountability Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment Microsoft Office required; Microsoft NAV preferred Mandarin a plus (not required) Passion for product development and toy innovation What We’re Looking For Across All Levels Highly organized with exceptional time management Strong cross-functional collaborator Ability to build relationships easily across departments and internationally Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset Excited about testing prototypes and bringing toys to life Curious, innovative, and passionate about the world of play If you strive to be part of a team shaping the future of children’s toys and driving innovation in play — we encourage you to apply.
