Responsibility includes providing nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU. The role requires managing patients with various critical conditions such as DKA, STEMI, CVA, and respiratory failure. Registered Nurse must work with equipment such as ventilators, IABP, A lines, and CPAP. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:6, depending on patient status. The RN may float to MedSurg if ICU is closed for the shift. The role emphasizes the need for teamwork and collaboration within a healthcare setting. Candidates must possess strong assessment and critical thinking skills. It is essential for applicants to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
