As a dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in surgery, your role is vital: not just in the operating room, but also at the bedside, during follow-ups, and behind the scenes where the healing truly begins. We are in search of a committed and meticulous PA to lend support to surgical services in a full-time capacity. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with experienced surgeons and compassionate nursing staff, ensuring that every patient's journey through surgery is smooth, accompanied, and focused on their well-being. Whether you're educating a patient before their procedure or passing instruments with skill during surgery, you'll make a significant impact each day-in an environment where your expertise and dedication are genuinely appreciated. Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including physical exams and comprehensive medical history reviews.
- Assist in assessing and diagnosing surgical conditions through the interpretation of imaging studies and laboratory results.
- Work closely with surgeons to develop and implement patient-specific surgical treatment plans.
- Provide intraoperative support, prepping operating rooms, ensuring optimal patient positioning, and facilitating instrument exchanges during procedures.
- Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care, including administering medications, providing wound care, creating discharge plans, and educating patients.
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgery is strongly preferred.
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certification.
- Required certifications in BLS and ACLS .
- State licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Strong understanding of surgical principles and aseptic technique.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to intricate clinical decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to excel under pressure, especially during surgical procedures.
