Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 1 year of CVICU experience is required. Vents, IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation are required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with Swan hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, and vasoactive drips is preferred. CRRT experience is beneficial. Experience with triage, ICP, and PA lines is preferred.

Required Credentials: RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Special Requests: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Adolescents are rare but, when encountered, are 16-18 years of age and adult size/weight. Available support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required, or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation.

Floating Requirements: Floats among multiple ICUs, including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID. When ICU needs are unavailable, will float to inpatient floors as a staff nurse; this may include non-critical care units when ICU census is low, with a ratio of no more than 1:3. May be asked to serve as a patient sitter if needed.
