We are hiring immediately for full‑time Barista positions at Stetson University, 421 North Woodland Boulevard, DeLand, FL 32723. Online applications only. Schedule: Full‑time. Job Summary Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items, handles food in accordance with HACCP guidelines, and interacts with customers and staff in a friendly, courteous manner. Responsibilities Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes. Enter orders accurately into the POS device; accept cash and charge payments. Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of the service area. Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards. Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils. Ensure proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following production standards. Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service. Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments. Greets customers courteously and interacts to ensure customer satisfaction; reports relevant concerns to supervisors. Serves customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays in serving lines. Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and explains them accurately to customers. Acts as an advocate for selling techniques, establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision‑making process. Ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards and serves food neatly and attractively. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Prior food service and barista experience required. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be eligible for Florida Level 2 background screening, as required for certain positions. Compensation Pay Range: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
