Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description
This role focuses on TIG and MIG welding and metal fabrication for commercial restaurant components, including metal furniture and vent hood covers for commercial kitchens. You will set up and operate welding equipment, fabricate products of varied complexity, and perform preventative maintenance on welding and metal fabrication machinery. During slower periods, you will operate a plasma cutting machine while working with aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel for commercial restaurant components and industrial kitchen appliances.
- Fabricate metal furniture and elements of varied complexity, ensuring products meet specified tolerances and customer requirements.
- Set up and operate MIG and TIG welding equipment, including selecting and using appropriate jigs and fixtures.
- Operate a plasma cutting machine during downtime to support production and fabrication needs.
- Closely inspect materials and finished welds for defects, proper welding techniques, accurate dimensions, and compliance with customer specifications.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment, including cleaning, tool changes, and minor repairs.
- Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working with welding equipment and fabrication machinery.
- Collaborate with team members in a manufacturing environment that includes full assembly, carpentry, fabrication, and upholstery operations.
- Proficiency in TIG welding, with strong ability to produce clean and precise welds.
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding and basic machine operation for metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints to understand weld requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Capability to complete full set-up and operation of MIG and TIG welding equipment, including proper use of jigs.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting materials and welds for defects, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment, including cleaning and minor repairs.
- Must be able to pass a weld test demonstrating practical welding skills and knowledge.
- Welding certification is preferred and demonstrates formal training and technical competence.
- Experience operating metal fabrication machinery is a plus.
- This role is well suited for a welding school graduate looking to develop and grow in a TIG-focused position.

Work Environment
The position is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing shop that produces industrial kitchen appliances and furniture for restaurants, with integrated assembly, carpentry, fabrication, and upholstery areas. You will work with TIG and MIG welding equipment, plasma cutting machines, and other metal fabrication tools. The current schedule includes mandatory Saturday half days from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in addition to regular weekday shifts. The environment is production-focused yet organized, with established safety procedures and a practical, work-ready dress code appropriate for a fabrication shop.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
