Your responsibilities include:Recruiting, interviewing, approving the hiring of, and training new employeesSupervising employees in the performance of their duties and conducting timely performance reviewsAssisting in security maintenance of all company assets (real estate, building, inventory, etc.) from all threats (not limited to theft, natural occurrences, and emergency situations)Ensuring all employees follow safety policies and proceduresStaying informed of daily gross sales, reviewing data processing reports, and assisting and advising in overall planning and participation of special sales and promotionsAdvising management on ways to improve operations, shipments, deliveries, store warehousing, and displaysAnalyzing and solving customer issues and resolving problems with delinquent accountsAssisting in preparing budget and sales forecastsPerforming the duties of other employees (planners, sales personnel, parts counter, warehouse, etc.) as needed and as outlined in the job descriptions for those positionsNegotiating agreements with major suppliers as needed (seeking the best price, discount, terms, delivery conditions, etc.)Staying informed on industry trends and attending trade shows, conventions, etc.Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to and striving to improve safety standards and reporting any suspicious activityAssisting in maintaining a clean and organized storeAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsA bachelor's degree in a business field or equivalent experience2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a retail environmentProven strong leadership skills to effectively communicate, coach, train, motivate, and develop employeesKnowledge of retail sales, purchasing, and inventory control practices and applications, and accounting principles (including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports)Strong computer skills and the willingness to learn new softwareStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsProven oral and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and give presentationsKnowledge of the tool and equipment industryWillingness to work Saturdays as neededPhysical RequirementsLift up to 30 lbs.Look at a computer screen for extended periods of timeBend, reach, squat, pull, and push as necessarySafely climb and descend stairs as neededAbout Acme ToolsFor over 75 years, Acme Tools has been a trusted source for tools and equipment throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and online by serving contractors, woodworkers, and DIY enthusiasts top-quality tools from the best brands.
