Medical Information Specialist - Pharmacist [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Medical Information Specialist - Pharmacist based in the United States.

This role is an opportunity for a pharmacist to apply scientific expertise in a specialized medical information environment supporting pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
You will respond to complex medical and safety inquiries from healthcare professionals, consumers, and other external stakeholders.
The position combines pharmacology, medical communications, regulatory compliance, and patient-focused service delivery.
You will research and communicate accurate, balanced information using approved labeling, scientific literature, and established response materials.
The role also involves identifying and documenting adverse events, special situations, and product complaints in accordance with applicable requirements.
Working remotely, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and responsiveness.

Accountabilities

• Respond to unsolicited requests for medical and safety information from consumers, healthcare professionals, and other external customers through telephone, email, websites, letters, fax, and scientific meetings.
• Provide accurate labeled and unlabeled medical and safety information in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, internal procedures, and client-specific working practices.
• Identify, document, and report adverse events, pregnancy reports, special situation events, and product quality complaints clearly and accurately according to applicable regulations and established procedures.
• Complete assigned activities within required timelines and maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely records in medical inquiry handling systems.
• Develop appropriate responses using approved product labeling, standard response documents, published scientific literature, and other validated sources.
• Support the preparation of customized medical information responses when standard materials do not fully address an inquiry.
• Perform quality checks on adverse event documentation, product complaints, correspondence, and inquiries to help maintain consistently high service and data quality.
• Provide rotating after-hours coverage when required by business needs.
• Protect confidential and personal information by following applicable data privacy, confidentiality, health, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and managers while taking ownership of assigned activities and supporting additional projects as needed.

Requirements

• Pharmacy degree required, with a strong foundation in pharmacology, medical terminology, pathophysiology, and related scientific disciplines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette, proofreading ability, and an empathetic approach to customer interactions.
• Fluent English proficiency and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately in the target language required for the role.
• Working knowledge of applicable medical information regulations, industry standards, and requirements governing safety information and product complaints.
• Strong verbal reasoning, critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate scientific information and formulate appropriate responses.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding timelines while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues, recommend practical solutions, take initiative, and seek opportunities to contribute beyond core responsibilities.
• Receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and able to apply instructions and established procedures consistently.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to quickly learn inquiry-handling databases and document management systems.
