Job Title: Cafe Worker Job Description

The Hospital Cafe Worker is responsible for preparing and serving food, assisting customers, maintaining food safety standards, and keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organized. This role supports daily cafe operations by preparing basic meals, stocking supplies, operating the service counter, and completing routine cleaning and sanitation tasks.

• Prepare basic meals, such as sandwiches, salads, burgers, quesadillas, fries, and beverages, following established recipes and procedures.
• Wash, cut, and prepare ingredients for daily food production.
• Portion, package, and label food items as needed.
• Monitor food quality and freshness throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Answer customer questions regarding menu items and ingredients.
• Restock food, beverages, utensils, and supplies throughout the day.
• Assist with receiving and storing inventory according to food safety guidelines.
• Monitor product levels and communicate supply needs to management.
• Support daily opening and closing procedures.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, counters, equipment, and workstations.
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and small kitchen equipment.
• Remove trash and maintain a clean dining and service area.
• Follow all hospital, health department, and food safety cleaning standards.

• Experience in foodservice and customer service.
• Must be reliable and communicative.
• Comfortable speaking with customers.
• Ability to be on their feet all day.
• Must obtain a food handler card.

• Any previous kitchen experience is a plus.

The position is for the 2nd shift, from 12pm to 8:30pm, Friday through Tuesday. You will be working in a hospital cafe environment where adherence to food safety standards is crucial. The role requires standing for long periods and interacting with customers and team members in a fast-paced setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Escondido, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Escondido,CA.
