Unit Educator, Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Join our dynamic NICU team—a 15-bed, Level III unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for infants born as early as 23 weeks. As a Unit Educator, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping clinical excellence and advancing nursing practice across our unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist to design, implement, and evaluate innovative educational initiatives and quality improvement projects that elevate patient outcomes and nursing practice
• Inspire and mentor nursing staff by modeling excellence in clinical practice, demonstrating best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
• Develop and deliver engaging educational programs for nursing staff, patients, and families that translate evidence-based knowledge into meaningful clinical practice
• Champion quality improvement initiatives that drive measurable enhancements in patient safety, care delivery, and team performance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate cutting-edge nursing knowledge and innovations into daily unit operations
• Uphold the highest standards of nursing care and professional practice, serving as a role model for clinical excellence and ethical decision-making

SCHEDULE: 36 hours per week, Day Shift, Onsite. Full-Time Benefit Eligible

LOCATION: Henry Ford Providence Southfield

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Equivalent of four years clinical experience with defined patient population preferred.
• Demonstrates interest and ability to teach patients, families and co-workers.
• Demonstrates leadership, good communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills, flexibility, self-directiveness and initiative required.

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current Michigan RN licensure required.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS) required
