Seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide impactful services in two welcoming school communities near Kalamazoo, MI. This contract opportunity runs ASAP through June 4th, with daily hours from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm (7.25 hours per day). The caseload is shared between Bangor and Hartford, just 15 minutes apart, making for a manageable and balanced work week. The assignment covers elementary and middle/high school locations, primarily serving students in grades K-5, with some support needed for older students as well.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy license for Michigan
- Prior experience with school-based therapy or pediatric populations preferred
- Ability to manage a split caseload and travel between sites within the same workday
- Strong communication, adaptability, and thorough documentation skills
- Open to flexible scheduling based on service, evaluation, and paperwork needs
- Willingness to explore COTA supervision if feasible
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services to students, focusing on supporting educational goals and daily functioning
- Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and families to develop and implement individualized plans
- Conduct evaluations, write reports, and maintain compliance with IEPs and state requirements
- Organize your own weekly schedule—typically two days per site, with the fifth day designed for paperwork or additional service as needed
- Address the needs of both elementary and, on occasion, secondary school students
- Travel between Bangor and Hartford as required
