Med Tech (Part-time)

Overview The Med Tech provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents and assists with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Must maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living and mobility; respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts Administer prescribed medications within the established scope of practice; document medication administration and any exceptions in the EMAR/MAR and Daily Log Complete medication cart audits and maintain the medication cart as directed; re-order medications and communicate with residents, families, and the pharmacy as needed Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers Assist with planning and conducting activity programs for residents; assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support Assist in ensuring resident safety and confidentiality; follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information Assist residents to and from the dining room and activities; check on residents for attendance and health status; report concerns to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, or ED) Perform housekeeping duties as directed; assist with care and cleanliness of resident apartments, common areas, and dining areas Attend medication trainings and participate in required medication administration education Support the nursing team and follow supervisor instructions; maintain professional conduct with residents, visitors, and co-workers Requirements High School Diploma or GED; completion of the Medication Aide Course Current CNA and Med Tech licenses from the State Board of Nursing in good standing Pass 2 medication observations annually and pass all medication cart audits as assigned Attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually Effective verbal and written communication; organized and able to work with all levels of personnel Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs; safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics In uniform during working hours (including name badge) and CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire Represent the community in a positive and professional manner; attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays; ability to remain calm and competent during emergencies Benefits and About Harmony Why Harmony? 401k; full-time and part-time benefits packages; training, development, and career laddering Great work-life balance; flexible scheduling Harmony Senior Services is a certified Great Place To Work with locations across the United States Equal Opportunity Harmony Senior Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other legally protected status.
