Hybrid Revenue Cycle Specialist

Location: Glendale, AZ (Hybrid)
Pay: $24.00/hour (W2)
Schedule: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Type: Contract (long-term)

Overview

We’re hiring a Hybrid Revenue Cycle Specialist to support a healthcare revenue cycle Cash Posting team. This role focuses on accurate, high-volume payment posting, remittance interpretation, investigation, and reconciliation across multiple payers and patient accounts.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid: Typically 3 days onsite / 2 days remote (schedule discussed during interview).
• Training: First month is 5 days onsite for training.

Key Responsibilities

• Post healthcare payments (manual and electronic) with high accuracy.
• Read, interpret, and apply EOBs, EFTs, ERAs, and 835 remittance files.
• Allocate lump-sum payments across multiple accounts and dates of service.
• Investigate payment discrepancies, research variances, and resolve unapplied payments.
• Apply payer rules appropriately (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers’ Comp).
• Collaborate with billing and collections teams to resolve account issues.
• Follow and improve internal workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Experience & Knowledge

• 3–5 years of healthcare payment posting and revenue cycle experience, including manual and electronic payments.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze remittance advice, including EOBs, EFTs, ERAs, and 835 files.
• Experience investigating payment discrepancies, researching account balances, identifying root causes, and resolving posting errors.
• Strong knowledge of coordination of benefits (COB), contractual adjustments, and secondary/tertiary payment rules.
• Experience with denial resolution, payment variance research, and unapplied cash investigations.
• Understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, including payment posting, reconciliation, and account follow-up.
• Proficiency with Excel and payment reconciliation tools.
• Experience using EMR and payment posting systems (e.g., WellSky, Interactant, or similar).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Rehab, home health, or residential healthcare experience.
• Exposure to payer audits and recoupments.
