Estimator- Drywall

JOB DESCRIPTION The Estimator is responsible for estimating and determining budgets, conceptual pricing, and overall costs of new and existing construction projects. Our estimating team also leads our sales efforts by maintaining client relationships and pursuing active and future projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares and estimates drywall conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid costs for construction by conducting digital take-offs and studying plans and specifications. Develops complete bids and scope proposals for construction projects. Navigates and understands building and sustainability codes (UL & STC ratings). Works closely with multiple general contractors, creating strong relationships. Coordinates with clients to visit jobsites as needed. Stays up to date on new products and construction methods for our specific scope. Maintains client relationships even after the bidding process. Works with the team and takes an active role in sales pursuits. Reviews contracts, scopes of work, and other front-end documents. Schedules meetings with clients, project managers, and superintendents. Stays organized with active pursuits by leaving notes in Smartsheet, BuildingConnected, and Salesforce. Schedules project coordination in collaboration with project office and field operations. Builds and maintains relationships with key vendors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / KEY SKILLS 2+ years of drywall estimating experience is a plus. Proficiency in reading construction documents. Proficiency in quantity take-offs and price estimating. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Exceptional diligence and ability to work in a demanding environment. Outstanding customer service and proactive communication skills. Excellent time management with the ability to work independently. Critical thinker and problem solver. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or a similar field (not required). Experience with takeoff software (OST & Quick Bid, BuzzBid, Edge).
