QUALITY INSPECTOR (Hiring Immediately)

Requirements: POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure that all products coming into the facility are consistently high quality and adhere to relevant specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Inspect all fresh produce arriving at the facility before it's accepted into the warehouse * Document issues noticed during inspection process and discuss inspection results to the Quality Supervisor * Recommend adjustments and changes to increase product consistency * Inspect produce returned by retail customers to determine cause of credit and evaluate who is responsible and how to reduce future issues * Comply with all aspects of the food safety programs and assist with recordkeeping requirements * Attend seminars and educational conferences to stay up to date on USDA standards and company quality standards * Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or equivalent * Knowledge of fresh produce * Forklift certification preferred REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Knowledge of or willingness to learn about fresh produce with a special emphasis on potatoes and onions * Attention to detail * Analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality * Written communication skills PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: * Prolonged periods standing and walking * Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasks * Exposure to airborne particles or fumes * Stairs will need to be climbed throughout the day to access the grading line * Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas * Occasionally will need to lift up to 60 pounds Work Schedule: * 5:45 - 2:30 pm * Increased hours during storage time (September - End of October) PI3a8d1decc31f-38003-41067217
