Animal Control Officer

JOB SUMMARY The Animal Control Officer enforces animal and rabies control ordinances and licensing regulations within the municipality. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Special Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older. Must possess valid Class "C" Texas driver's license or higher with good driving history. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of local geographic area. Ability to run and chase animals. Ability to work out-of-doors in all types of weather. Ability to work for long periods of time in a smoke-free workplace. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force consistently to move objects. Starting salary for this position is $19.21 hourly.
