Shift Supervisor

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor. The Shift Supervisor will play a key leadership role in maximizing productivity, minimizing waste, supporting employee development, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coach, train, and develop hourly production employees.
• Ensure proper staffing and efficient shift operations.
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure quality checks are completed and products meet specifications.
• Maximize productivity, minimize waste, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Conditions (SOC).
• Coordinate order and blend changes while minimizing downtime.
• Communicate operational issues and disruptions to management.
• Ensure accurate Shop Floor Data Collection (SFDC) reporting.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Support customer complaint investigations and continuous improvement efforts.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility
• In-depth knowledge of extrusion operations and manufacturing processes
• Ability to train, motivate, and supervise employees in a team-oriented environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or a related field
• Experience working with extrusion machinery or related production equipment
• 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and lead process improvement initiatives.

Education:

• AA degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Details:

• This position is 100% onsite
• This position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule consisting of alternating 2-day and 3-day work blocks (example: 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on). The schedule rotates to provide continuous plant coverage and includes every-other weekend work.
• The shift is either 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. OR 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
• This position requires working both in office (30%) and on the floor (70%) environments, with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and production equipment.
• Minimal supervision required; general direction provided on improvement initiatives and knowledge development.
