Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Hilo, Hawaii. Start date 10/12/2026 for a 15-week contract. Weekly pay range is $1,926 to $2,075 per week. Shift is 12-hour days (0645–1915). The travel assignment is in a hospital-based medical-surgical setting with float coverage across Medical Unit, Surgical Acute (Laulima-style) units, and occasional Cardiovascular care. Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment; candidates not in possession should apply promptly after offer acceptance. Orientation is provided; arrival the Thursday before start is required for employee health processing.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to adult patients on medical-surgical units
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status; administer medications and care plans per unit protocol
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Float between Medical Unit, Surgical Acute (Laulima-style) unit, and, on occasion, Cardiovascular Unit as needed
- Utilize Meditech EMR, Pyxis, and associated equipment; manage wound vacs and chest tubes as applicable
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and patient/family education throughout shifts

Requirements
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse license by start of assignment
- BLS required; ACLS (preferred: PALS, TNCC, ENPC) and related certifications
- 2 to 10 years of RN experience in medical-surgical or related units
- Ability to float to other units and work in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Availability for 12-hour day shifts and orientation participation
