This medical center is a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility with 162 beds, providing comprehensive emergency and surgical services to the community. The hospital offers modern surgical facilities with strong support systems for physicians on call.

Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:
General Surgery Call for ER/Trauma and Inpatient Coverage
Schedule: Friday 1/23/2026 at 7AM to Monday 2/2/2026 at 7AM
Approximately 1-5 patient encounters per shift
No outpatient clinic responsibilities - focus on emergency/trauma call
Must have current New Mexico License, New Mexico controlled substance license and DEA
Board Certification Eligible required
ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
Provide adult and pediatric general surgery services
Experience with trauma cases essential
Perform laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
Chest wall/pleural procedures required
GI endoscopy skills required (upper and lower, including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy)
Must be proficient in chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement
Experience with vascular access devices preferred
Some pediatric surgical procedures may be required (intestinal artesias, biliary artesias, abdominal wall defects)

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
