Job Title: Forklift Operator Night Shift Job Description

This night shift Forklift Operator role focuses on unloading inbound shipments on the receiving dock, accurately scanning and recording inventory, and safely moving product from staging areas into warehouse storage locations using a variety of forklifts. You will play a key role in the shipping and receiving process by operating sit-down and stand-up reach trucks, using RF scanning equipment, and ensuring that all received shipments are properly documented and staged for put-away in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

• Operate sit-down forklifts to safely unload shipments from trucks at the receiving dock.
• Stage unloaded skids in designated areas for put-away according to warehouse procedures.
• Use RF scanning equipment to scan barcodes on wrapped skids and accurately enter shipment data into the warehouse management system.
• Operate stand-up reach trucks (preferably Crown) to move skids from staging areas into warehouse storage locations.
• Operate cherry picker forklifts (Yale, Crown) as needed to handle and store product in racking systems.
• Perform loading and unloading of trucks while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
• Verify received shipments and ensure accurate entry of all received items into warehouse systems.
• Follow all safety protocols and equipment operating procedures while working on the receiving dock and inside trailers.
• Work effectively within a high-volume receiving area with multiple dock doors and frequent truck movements.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and maintain an organized and efficient receiving area.

• At least 1 year of prior forklift operating experience required.
• 2 or more years of forklift operating experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience operating stand-up reach forklifts, preferably Crown brand equipment.
• Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience with loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency using RF scanning equipment to scan barcodes and track inventory.
• Ability to enter received shipments accurately into a warehouse management or inventory system.
• Ability to work a night shift schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation from 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

• Previous experience on a receiving dock or in shipping and receiving operations.
• Experience operating Crown stand-up reach trucks and Yale or Crown cherry picker forklifts.
• Strong attention to detail when scanning, staging, and recording inventory.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
• Commitment to following safety procedures while operating material handling equipment and working around moving trucks and forklifts.

The role is based on a busy receiving dock with approximately 23 bay doors where trucks are continuously jockeyed in for unloading. The receiving dock is not climate controlled, and employees frequently move in and out of trailers, so temperatures will vary with the seasons. The position follows a 2-2-3 night shift schedule from 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., working on designated teams. The environment is fast-paced, with frequent forklift traffic and truck movements, and requires consistent adherence to safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse and dock setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHAMBERSBURG, PA.

The pay range for this position is $22.81 - $22.81/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
