Safety Specialist The Safety Specialist supports a large-scale industrial construction project in Jeffersonville, IN, focused on building a solar panel manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe work environment by promoting safety best practices, providing on-site safety guidance, and ensuring full compliance with OSHA standards throughout all construction activities. Responsibilities
Serve as the on-site safety resource for all construction-related activities on a large industrial project. Identify, evaluate, and correct potential safety hazards in real time to prevent incidents and injuries. Lead and support safety training efforts, including fall protection, lockout/tagout procedures, and general construction safety practices. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident reporting to monitor and improve site safety performance. Educate and coach employees and contractors on safety protocols, compliance standards, and safe work practices. Work closely with a diverse and multilingual workforce, including international contractors, using translation tools and maintaining patience and professionalism in all communication. Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety requirements at all times. Promote a proactive safety culture by influencing safe behaviors and encouraging continuous improvement in safety practices. Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into daily planning and execution of construction tasks. Essential Skills 3–4 years of experience in industrial or commercial construction safety. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Current CPR/AED certification. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey safety expectations and influence safe behaviors on-site. Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, active construction environment. Hands-on experience conducting safety training in areas such as fall protection, lockout/tagout, and general construction safety. Demonstrated capability to perform safety audits, inspections, and incident reporting. Solid understanding of health and safety principles and regulatory compliance in construction settings. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA 300 and/or OSHA 510 certifications are strongly preferred. Experience working with multilingual teams or international contractors. Comfort using translation tools and adapting communication style to diverse audiences. Background in safety training and coaching within industrial or commercial construction. Ability to build trust and rapport with field personnel while reinforcing safety requirements. Interest in long-term career growth on large industrial projects and future travel assignments. Work Environment This role is based on a project site in Jeffersonville, IN, supporting the construction of a solar panel manufacturing facility. The position is fully embedded in an active industrial construction environment, requiring regular presence in the field, interaction with craft workers and contractors, and participation in site walks, inspections, and trainings. The work involves collaboration with a diverse, multilingual workforce and the use of translation tools to support clear communication. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with changing site conditions typical of large-scale construction projects. Successful performance on this project can lead to long-term growth opportunities and potential future travel assignments on other major industrial projects, such as upcoming work in Texas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Jeffersonville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
