Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Manager

Job Description

The Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Manager is responsible for initiating and implementing policies and procedures required to manage SCI programs and protect SCI resources. The incumbent acts as the resident expert on all SCI security matters and functions as the technical authority in all other areas of classified security and classification guidance. The duties require the incumbent to maintain currency on a variety of different security program interrelationships, requirements, regulations, and guidance in order to apply this knowledge to protect SCI facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing policies and procedures for SCI protection and security.
• Researching, interpreting, analyzing, and applying various directives and manuals.
• Serving as the SCI Control Officer for establishing, managing, and controlling all collateral and SCI classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).
• Working directly for the intelligence unit commander/Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) to report on the administration of the Special Security Office and SCI-associated security programs.
• Managing and directing the activities and personnel of the unit Special Security Office.
• Administering the SCI security clearance program for all assigned personnel.
• Providing oversight of unit and SSO security self-inspections.
• Representing the intelligence unit to a variety of installation and functional areas.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
