Registered Nurse II - Inpatient Oncology Unit - Full Time/Nights

About Us: The Pediatric Inpatient Oncology Unit, also known as Craycroft, specializes in oncology, hematology, rheumatology, renal, diabetic, and endocrine disorders. With 35 beds, Craycroft is uniquely designed to meet the needs of patients requiring isolation or those with mobility challenges. The unit features private rooms, each with a high‑efficiency filter system to protect patients with weakened immune systems, and accommodations for overnight family stays. The unit is staffed by dedicated healthcare professionals who blend medical expertise, cutting‑edge technologies, and empathy to deliver comprehensive, supportive, and compassionate care, guiding patients and families through their journey with the utmost care and understanding. Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing competent nursing care, coordinating the patient’s plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. The position is practiced under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies. Qualifications Education Program accredited nursing program (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse License – CA‑BRN – California Board of Registered Nursing (required) BLS – Basic Life Support – AHA – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required) PEARS – Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization – AHA – American Heart Association (required for employees hired into Apollo, Craycroft, Discovery, Explorer, and Peds Rehab within 12 months of hire or transfer) Work Experience Experience to correlate with Clinical Advancement Program (required) Skills and Abilities Bilingual skills preferred. Chemotherapy/biotherapy provider program within 12 months of hire or transfer.
