Veterinary Technician, Medical Oncology | $23–$30/hr | Full-Time Benefits | Four 9-Hour Shifts | NO WEEKENDS! | Woburn, MA

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital is seeking a Medical Oncology Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative and compassionate specialty team in Woburn, Massachusetts.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Medical Oncology team providing exceptional care to pets and their families throughout every stage of treatment.

Compensation

• $23–$30/hour based on experience, skills assessment, and leveling

Schedule

• Four 9-hour shifts per week

• No weekends

Responsibilities

• Assist the Medical Oncology team with appointments, treatments, and patient care plans

• Administer chemotherapy and supportive medications following hospital safety protocols

• Monitor patients during treatment and recovery

• Collect laboratory samples and perform diagnostic testing as needed

• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and medical records

• Provide compassionate communication and education to clients throughout the treatment process

• Collaborate closely with oncologists, veterinary technicians, assistants, and other specialty departments to deliver exceptional patient care

• Support a positive and efficient workflow within the oncology service and hospital

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent work experience required

• 1–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician required

• CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required

• Strong technical skills and confidence in patient handling, nursing care, and anesthesia monitoring preferred

• Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented with a commitment to exceptional patient care and client service

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment

• Eager to continue learning, growing, and collaborating with a supportive team

• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
