Medical  Scheduling Coordinator -  Outpatient  Services

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (Oakland area)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (Standard daylight schedule, 8:30am–5:00pm; no holidays or weekends required)

New Hire Starting Base Pay: $19.80 – $22.45 per hour (Placement and starting salary based on EMR experience, medical terminology, and patient registration background.)

Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $30.40 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and administrative contribution.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education & Experience: B.A. degree and 1 year of experience in a related fiscal/admission/registration function;  OR 2 years of college, business school education, or medical secretary training and 1-2 years of experience;  OR equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Healthcare Background: Demonstrated experience in a  healthcare setting , with proven ability to function well under stressful conditions and maintain patient standards.
• Scheduling & Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with computer-based appointment scheduling and EMR systems (Epic experience highly preferred).
• Insurance & Healthcare Knowledge: Knowledge of third-party health care coverage and familiarity with medical terminology required, including an understanding of Blue Cross, Medicare, Medical Assistance, and commercial insurance coverage.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for interacting with patients, families, and clinical teams.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Patient Access & Scheduling: Coordinate, schedule, and confirm new and returning patient appointments, diagnostic testing, and evaluations using automated scheduling systems.
• Intake & Registration: Gather and record accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information during intake to ensure seamless billing and record compliance.
• Front Desk & Administrative Support: Answer incoming calls, greet patients and visitors, manage office correspondence, maintain supply inventory, and back up medical records functions.
• Interdisciplinary Communication: Act as a key communication link between patients, physicians, APPs, nurses, and office staff to facilitate timely care coordination and follow-up.
