Location: Los Angeles, CA (including surrounding areas)

Terms: Full-time, Non-exempt, In-person

Hours: 5 days/40 hours a week

Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking a hardworking and hands-on Working Foreman to join our team. You will guide daily field operations, work alongside team members on day-to-day landscaping work while simultaneously taking on added responsibilities for crew coordination, on-site supervision, and quality assurance. You will guide daily field operations on residential and commercial properties, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard under the guidance of a Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Oversight

• Direct daily on-site activities, assign tasks, and motivate team members to meet project deadlines efficiently.
• Inspect completed work precisely to ensure adherence to project plans, quality standards, and client expectations.
• Enforce safety protocols, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and promote a culture of respect.
• Serve as a primary point of contact between field staff, supervisors, and clients regarding daily progress or site adjustments.

Field Execution & Maintenance

• Perform hands-on watering, mowing, edging, trimming, and pruning of grass, hedges, and plants.
• Rake leaves, remove weeds, and clear debris from lawns, garden beds, and hardscapes.
• Assist in planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation; spread mulch, soil, and fertilizer.
• Install, inspect, maintain and repair irrigation systems.
• Manage and organize trash and green waste receptacles on the job site as needed.
• Assist in constructing and installing hardscape features.
• Safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, weeders, leaf blowers, hedge clippers, and chainsaws.
• Load and unload landscaping materials, tools, and equipment.
• Drive and maintain company vehicles to safely transport personnel, materials and equipment between various job sites while ensuring compliance with traffic laws and vehicle inspection protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized work site and display high professionalism when interacting with coworkers, clients, vendors, and others.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
• Adhere to company policies and local regulations regarding landscaping and environmental practices, and worker well-being.
• Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Promote a culture of safety and respect on every job site.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on landscaping experience required. Prior experience leading a crew or acting as a point person is heavily preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of and safe operation skills for mowers, trimmers, blowers, weeders, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.
• Perform strenuous outdoor labor, including moving, lifting, or transporting 50+ lbs regularly. Expected to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods, and navigate stairways, landscape ladders, step stools, various steep slopes, and uneven surfaces (lawns, tarps, concrete, soil, mulch).
• Expected to work under varying weather conditions and in outdoor environments.
• Takes pride in creating and maintaining visually appealing, healthy landscapes.
• Punctual, dependable, and committed to showing up for scheduled shifts.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a comprehensive security background check and adhere strictly to client confidentiality protocols.
• • Comprehensive security background check is conducted only after a conditional offer of employment is made.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to independently manage communications with our client base and team members.

Work Environment

• Outdoor Setting: This role involves exposure to varying weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, and humidity.)
• Physical Demands: The job requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive motions. The job also requires lifting 50+ lbs on a regular basis.
• Noise Levels: Moderate to high noise levels due to equipment operation.
• Travel: May require travel to different job sites within the local area.

Employment Status & Compensation

• At-Will: This is a full-time, at-will position. Either the employee or the company can end the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
• Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime will be paid in strict compliance with California daily and weekly overtime laws. This pay range represents the good faith hourly wage estimate the company reasonably expects to pay for this position upon hire.
• Bonuses: Eligible for performance-based bonuses and advancement opportunities.
• Tools: All necessary tools, including garden shears, lawnmowers, and protective gear, are provided by the employer at no cost to the employee.
