Job Description

The Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes in the Department of Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine invites applications for the position of Division Chief . This is a full-time faculty appointment at an open academic rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor), commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology .

Position Overview
\n The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Divisions clinical, educational, and research missions. We seek a dynamic and collaborative leader committed to fostering excellence in patient care, expanding innovative research programs, enhancing fellowship and medical education, and advancing the academic profile of the Division.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical, educational, and research activities within the Division.
\n
• Recruit, mentor, and support faculty, trainees, and staff.
\n
• Expand high-quality, patient-centered endocrine services across the health system.
\n
• Promote a culture of scholarship and strengthen funded research programs.
\n
• Support and advance the Endocrinology Fellowship Program and contribute to medical student and resident education.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with department, school, and health system leadership to grow multidisciplinary programs.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• MD, DO, or equivalent clinical degree.
\n
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism.
\n
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
\n
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teaching.
\n
• Evidence of scholarly productivity; candidates for senior ranks should have a track record of academic leadership and extramural funding.
\n

Essential Functions:

\n
• Assesses the physical status of clients through interview, health history and physical examination and both inpatient and outpatient services.
\n
• Formulates treatment plans for health problems and follow-ups.
\n
• Writes prescriptions for medication, blood tests and routine diagnostic and follow-up studies and therapeutic measures.
\n
• Evaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement.
\n
• Shares clinical expertise with personnel.
\n
• Documents and reports care in an accurate and timely manner.
\n

• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
\n
• Performs other duties as assigned.
\n

Education:

\n
• Medical Doctorate degree
\n
• Epic EMR experience is preferred.
\n
• Strong computer and keyboarding skills.
\n
• Licensure: Physician license for state of Kentucky
\n
• \n

  Certification : ACLS/BLS Certification ACLS/BLS Certification
