Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-focused operating room nursing, planning and evaluating care under established standards and protocols.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs for patient safety and successful interventions.
• Maintain sterile fields and ensure precise care and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Oversee safe patient positioning, transfer, and aseptic techniques throughout perioperative procedures.
• Conduct and document thorough sponge, needle, and instrument counts, communicate results as required.
• Facilitate accurate patient identification, confirm procedures and sites, safeguard patient privacy and dignity.
• Administer medications and IV therapy per physician's orders and protocols.
• Complete concise, accurate documentation and timely reporting to ensure continuity of care.
• Mentor and support colleagues; engage in ongoing professional development.
• Recognize and report risk, participate in safety compliance and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current MA RN license required.
• O.R. nursing experience preferred; CNOR strongly preferred.
• ACLS certification upon hire (or BLS with ability to obtain ACLS within 60 days).
• Strong multitasking, adaptability, and communication skills.
