Position Overview Postdoctoral Scholar - Douglas Black Lab in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at UCLA. Salary range: $69,073-$82,836 (UC salary scale). Position Description The Black Lab studies mechanisms regulating pre‑mRNA splicing in mammalian cells, with a focus on the nervous system and the mis‑regulation of splicing in disease. Work includes RNA/protein biochemistry, genomics, bioinformatics, structural biology, and genome‑edited stem cell and mouse models. Responsibilities Lead own project and contribute to projects of other team members. Apply for fellowships and grants. Assist in graduate student training, supervise undergraduates, and prepare manuscripts. Basic Qualifications Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, neuroscience, biophysics, or related discipline. Ability to work independently and as a team with a strong work ethic.
