Surgical Technologist

Location: Miles City, MT 59301

Contract: 13 Weeks of contract

Shift: Days | 5×8-Hour Shifts

Pay Rate:

• Local: $55/hr on W2
• Travel: $2,100/Weekly Gross

Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist works as a member of the surgical team to support safe and successful operative procedures. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports directly to Surgical Services management. The Surgical Technologist also supports system-wide surgical operations initiatives and participates in the surgical operations safety plan.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain accountability for ensuring the operating room and surgical items meet sterilization requirements.
• Establish and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
• Maintain a safe surgical environment and follow appropriate safety protocols.
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Assist surgeons during procedures within the Surgical Technologist/ORT scope of practice.
• Assist with sterile processing activities as needed.
• Recognize emergency situations and exercise appropriate judgment when responding to surgical emergencies.

Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program; OR
• Graduation from a non-accredited Surgical Technologist program within the past 6 months (not eligible for the Tech in Surgery examination); OR
• 2 years of Scrub Technologist experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last 3 years.
