Job Title: Powder Coater / Wet Painter

Job type: Full time

The Powder and Wet Painters are directly involved with quality and profitability. Therefore, they are expected to uphold the company standards and processes as expressed in this document and the company handbook. Every part must be evenly coated. They are responsible for tracking their required materials before a job begins. They are also required to maintain their booth equipment and to alert the maintenance department of any preventative maintenance needed beyond their capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Powder Coaters

• Powder coaters are expected to produce quality product, utilizing and maintaining company provided equipment
• Inspect parts after bake process to ensure topcoat is of quality standards
• Powder coaters are responsible for the retrieval and proper storage of all powder paints

Wet Painters

• Wet painters are expected to produce quality product, utilizing and maintaining company provided equipment
• Wet painters are expected to understand concepts of mixing paint with thinner / catalyst while achieving target color / viscosity of paint
• Wet painters are responsible for the use and storage of templates for all job orders, masking and removing said masking from parts if not line painting
• It is very important to examine parts before coatings may begin to avoid cross-contamination of parts in the event metal materials are rusty, require out-gassing, incorrect metal materials, etc. to ensure quality product
• Required to examine parts after coatings to determine if touchup is necessary
• It is the wet painters’ responsibility to dispose of remaining paint / chemical in the proper waste disposal room
• The wet painter is responsible for cleaning lines and paint gun with MAK after the end of each day to keep company supplied equipment running properly
