Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves providing nursing care to surgical patients in the immediate preoperative and postoperative period, ensuring patient safety, pain control, and stabilization. The position requires responding to emergency situations and following facility protocols. The role is represented by CNA and involves rotating shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: San Luis Obispo, California
• Schedule: Shift Time is rotating with a start time of 07:00 or 08:00, consisting of 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; minimum of 2 years PACU-specific experience; current RN license in California; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department.
• Essential Functions: Competent in physical assessment post anesthesia; airway management; recognizing symptoms of distress; medication administration; intravenous therapy; care of indwelling catheters and drains; monitoring hemodynamic status; interpreting ECG rhythms; managing pain control; ensuring safe patient discharge from PACU; appropriate use of restraints; utilizing facility information systems; maintaining safety and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Additional Information: This position involves responding to emergent patient situations, managing critical care interventions, and fulfilling responsibilities related to patient safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
