About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Risk Management and Litigation. This pivotal role is dedicated to providing strategic leadership and expertise in the management of a diverse range of professional liability claims, with a focus on minimizing exposure and costs. The successful candidate will lead a team of claims handlers, oversee the company's insurance portfolio, and drive the broader risk management strategy. A key aspect of the position is to ensure that risk management practices align with the company's values and commitment to providing quality care with compassion and innovation. Applicants must have a graduate degree from an ABA-accredited law school, a minimum of 15 years of legal experience in litigation and risk management, and a strong background in the healthcare industry. Expertise in medical malpractice litigation, professional liability claims management, and experience with 8th Amendment and similar cases is highly desirable. The role requires a candidate who is licensed to practice law and in good standing, with the ability to be admitted as In-House Counsel in the state of Tennessee. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and defending complex legal matters, as well as a deep understanding of federal healthcare regulatory elements.
