Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation on third shift. This position is responsible for machine setup, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, product quality, and achievement of production goals. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation, and the capability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and supervisory personnel.ResponsibilitiesPerform machine setups, adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs to keep production equipment operating efficiently.Execute preventative maintenance activities according to established schedules to minimize unplanned downtime.Inspect parts visually and using precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with blueprint specifications and quality standards.Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation to guide maintenance and repair work.Communicate machine status, repair needs, and production concerns clearly with supervisors, setup personnel, and machine operators.Service and maintain cutting tools and drills as required to support production quality and efficiency.Verify the accuracy and calibration of measuring devices to ensure reliable inspection results.Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, machine performance, and repairs in accordance with company procedures.Complete required production and quality documentation, including production sheets, charts, barcode transactions, and related paperwork.Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and communicating opportunities to improve operational processes and equipment performance.Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following company safety procedures and adhering to 5S workplace organization standards.Perform additional maintenance and production support duties as assigned to meet operational needs.Essential SkillsAt least 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in machine setup, troubleshooting, and repair.Proficiency in performing preventative maintenance on production equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.Experience using precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify dimensions.Basic electrical maintenance skills applicable to production machinery.Knowledge of hydraulic systems and their maintenance and troubleshooting.Knowledge of pneumatic systems and their maintenance and troubleshooting.Experience with PLC troubleshooting to support equipment diagnostics and repairs.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, setup personnel, and machine operators.Capability to work independently on third shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Commitment to following safety procedures and 5S workplace organization standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience maintaining and servicing cutting tools and drills in a manufacturing setting.Background in welding to support equipment repair and fabrication needs.Familiarity with documenting maintenance activities and production-related information using production sheets, charts, and barcode transactions.Comfort working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an integrated manufacturing environment.Attention to detail in inspecting parts and verifying compliance with quality and blueprint requirements.Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a comprehensive health care package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as disability insurance and company-paid life insurance. Overtime is posted weekly on Wednesdays by 3:00 p.m., providing visibility into additional work opportunities. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with regular interaction with machinery and equipment that involve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and welding-related tasks. Work is performed on the shop floor, following established safety procedures and 5S workplace organization standards to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace. Employees are expected to adhere to appropriate industrial attire and safety gear requirements suitable for a manufacturing setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, MI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.60 - $30.25/hr.
