PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Adult DHS Federal Personnel, Authorized Government Populations, Active-Duty U.S. Coast Guard Personnel, and Eligible Beneficiaries as Applicable

• Patient Volume/Census: To Be Determined Based on Clinic Demand and Mission Requirements

• Admissions: Not Applicable; Ambulatory and Episodic Care Setting

• Rounding: Not Applicable

• Case Mix: Acute Non-Life-Threatening Illnesses and Injuries, Occupational Health, Travel Medicine, Pre-Employment and Pre-Placement Examinations, Medical Surveillance, Fitness-for-Duty and Return-to-Work Evaluations, Immunizations, Health Promotion, and Mission-Related Clinical Services

FACILITY INFORMATION

• Facility Type: Federal Workforce Care Clinic Supporting Occupational Health and Urgent Care Services

• Office Equipment Available: Government-Issued Laptop, Monitor, Docking Station, Keyboard, Mouse, and Required Network Access

• Support Staff Available: Interdisciplinary Clinical Team, Physician, Nursing Personnel, and Existing USCG Clinical Resources as Applicable

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Rate: $60/hr

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Patient Intake, Triage, and Focused Nursing Assessments

• Vital Sign Monitoring and Patient Flow Management

• Administration of Oral, Intramuscular, Intravenous, Subcutaneous, and Topical Medications and Treatments Within Scope of Practice

• Administration of Injections and Immunizations in Accordance with Approved Orders and Protocols

• EKG Acquisition and Point-of-Care Testing

• Laboratory Specimen Collection, Labeling, Handling, and Processing Coordination

• Wound Care, Dressing Changes, and Splinting

• Emergency Response, Initial Stabilization, and Coordination of Transfer to a Higher Level of Care

• Occupational Health Screening and Support for Pre-Employment, Surveillance, Fitness-for-Duty, and Return-to-Work Evaluations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an Accredited Nursing Program; Education Equivalency Substitutions Are Not Permitted

• Licenses: Current, Full, Active, and Unrestricted Registered Nurse License Acceptable Under Applicable DHS/DHA and Duty-Location Requirements

• Certifications: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification Required

• Preferred Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Emergency Nursing, or Occupational Health Credentials

• Experience: Minimum of One Year of Professional Registered Nurse Experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Ambulatory Clinic, or a Comparable Clinical Setting

• Preferred Experience: Occupational Health, Emergency Care, Federal Healthcare, or Government Clinical Operations

• Work Authorization: Must Be a U.S. Citizen, Noncitizen National, Lawful Permanent Resident, or Other Individual Legally Authorized to Work in the United States

• Physical Requirements: Ability to Stand and Walk for Extended Periods, Bend, Type and Navigate EHR Systems, Lift and Carry up to 25 Pounds, Assist Patients, and Respond Rapidly to Urgent or Emergent Situations

• Availability: Must Be Available and Committed to the Full-Time Onsite Assignment and Any Authorized Mission-Related Surge Support

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Direct Ambulatory and Episodic Nursing Care Within the Authorized Scope of Practice, Standing Orders, Clinical Protocols, and Applicable Standards of Care

• Perform Patient Intake, Triage, Initial Clinical Assessments, and Focused Nursing Assessments

• Obtain and Document Subjective and Objective Findings, Vital Signs, Chief Complaints, Medical History, Allergies, Treatments, Medications, Procedures, Outcomes, and Disposition Information

• Provide Nursing Care for Acute, Non-Life-Threatening Illnesses and Injuries

• Assist Physicians and Other Providers with Examinations, Procedures, Treatments, and Patient Flow

• Administer Prescribed Medications, Treatments, Injections, Immunizations, and Prophylactic Agents Through Approved Routes

• Perform Wound Care, Splinting, EKGs, Point-of-Care Testing, Vital Sign Monitoring, and Other Authorized Nursing Procedures

• Collect Laboratory Specimens and Ensure Proper Identification, Handling, Documentation, and Processing

• Participate in Required Training, Competency Assessments, Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, Risk Management, and Emergency or Mission-Support Activities

• Perform any other duties as assigned
