Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating daily outbound shipments and ensuring products are accurately prepared, documented, labeled, and shipped on time. This position works closely with Production, Finishing, Quality, Customer Service, and other departments to confirm order readiness and resolve shipping-related issues. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule trucks, freight carriers, and customer pickups based on shipment priorities and product readiness.
• Prepare and verify packing lists, bills of lading, shipping documents, and other required paperwork.
• Print, apply, and verify product, pallet, customer, and shipping labels.
• Confirm quantities, part numbers, customer information, and shipping instructions before orders leave the facility.
• Coordinate with Production, Finishing, Quality, Warehouse, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure orders are ready for shipment.
• Communicate shipment schedules, delays, shortages, and other concerns to the appropriate departments.
• Arrange freight pickups and communicate with carriers regarding appointments, changes, and delivery requirements.
• Track shipments and provide shipping or tracking information when requested.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper shipping records.
• Assist with staging, organizing, and verifying completed orders.
• Follow customer-specific packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
• Help resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged shipments, and missing paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping area.
• Follow all company safety policies and shipping procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and changing priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and shipping or inventory systems.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, customers, truck drivers, and freight carriers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred
