Overview The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the Big Ten Conference and have been since July 1, 2014. Rutgers is known as “The Birthplace of College Football,” hosting the first intercollegiate football game between Rutgers and Princeton on November 6, 1869. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Coach – Strength and Conditioning for Athletics. Responsibilities Assist in instructing and organizing all aspects of the Strength & Conditioning Program, including training, technical supervision, evaluation, and preparation of practices and competition. Work with Head Coaches of designated sports to develop and administer strength and conditioning programs unique to each sport and athlete, helping students reach their full potential. Primarily serve the Tennis, Track & Field Jumps & Vaults, and Swim & Dive teams. SALARY Base salary: $60,000 per year. Final offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, and department or grant funds. Primary work arrangement: fully on‑site. Location Piscataway, NJ (Rutgers University – New Brunswick campus) Qualifications Two (2) years of strength coaching experience at the college level, with instructional experience in strength and conditioning. Bachelor’s degree. Certifications & Licenses Membership and certification by an accredited professional organization (e.g., National Strength and Conditioning Association, Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association). First aid/CPR/AED certified. Valid driver’s license. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of strength training equipment. Computer literacy. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Swim & Dive, Women’s Tennis, and Track & Field. Graduate degree in exercise science or related field. One year of strength coaching experience with Tennis, Track & Field Jumps & Vaults, and Swim & Dive at the Division I level. Experience with athlete monitoring systems, data analytics, and sport technology. Proficiency with weightroom equipment (free weights, machines, cardio equipment). Proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Office, Polar HR monitors, Cardio Coach VO₂ carts, Hawkin force plate technologies, Elite form. Physical Demands and Work Environment Nights and weekends required. Safe driving record.
